PitNotes – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PitNotes (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the PitNotes mobile application (“App”).

PitNotes is a rally stage & pit logbook for co-drivers and teams. It helps you keep track of stage notes, tyre pressures, event details and setup information. We designed PitNotes so that most of your data stays local on your device.

1. Data we store on your device

The App stores your rally-related information locally on your device, such as:

• Event details (event name, date, surface, location, car number/model, etc.)
• Stage notes, setup notes, tyre pressures and other log entries
• Locally generated PDFs you export from your events/seasons
• Basic settings and preferences (e.g., whether you have seen the onboarding, Pro status flag, etc.)

This information is stored using the device’s local storage (for example, key-value storage) and is not automatically uploaded to our own servers.

You are responsible for backing up your device if you want to preserve your PitNotes data (for example, using iCloud or your phone’s backup tools).

2. Information we do not collect directly

Through the App itself, we do not:

• Create user accounts or require you to log in
• Collect your name, address, or contact details directly
• Track your precise location in real-time

The only time we may see rally-related information is when you voluntarily share it with us (for example, by sending a support email with screenshots or exported files attached).

3. In-app purchases & subscriptions

PitNotes offers a Pro subscription (for example, “PitNotes Pro”) and may offer one-time purchase options in the future. These purchases are processed through:

• Apple App Store (for iOS and iPadOS devices)
• Google Play Store (for Android devices, if/when supported)

We do not receive your full payment details (such as your credit card number). Those are handled by Apple and Google directly, according to their own privacy policies.

4. Network requests & third-party content

PitNotes may send limited network requests in order to improve your experience. For example:

• Fetching an event logo from a third-party rally website, based on the event name you enter
• Opening your email app with a pre-filled address for feedback
• Opening your web browser when you tap on Privacy Policy or Terms of Use links

These third-party websites and services may collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for how those third parties handle data.

5. Support, feedback & email

If you contact us by email (for example, for feedback or bug reports), we will receive the information you choose to provide in your message. This may include:

• Your email address and name (as configured in your email client)
• Device or app details you voluntarily include
• Screenshots, PDFs, or other attachments you choose to send

We use this information solely to respond to your request, improve the App, and provide support. We do not sell or rent this information to third parties.

6. Children’s privacy

PitNotes is primarily intended for adult rally co-drivers, teams and motorsport enthusiasts. It is not designed for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data retention & deletion

Because your rally data is stored locally on your device:

• You can delete individual events and notes inside the App.
• You can delete all data by uninstalling the App from your device.

Any purchase history held by Apple or Google is kept in accordance with their own retention policies.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to keep PitNotes secure and to limit the amount of data we collect. However, no mobile app or online service can be 100% secure. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your device secure and updated
• Using a strong device passcode/biometrics
• Controlling who can access your phone and your rally data

9. International users

Depending on your location, different data protection laws (such as GDPR in the European Union) may apply. We aim to collect the minimum amount of information needed to operate the App (mostly local-only), and to rely on well-established platforms (Apple, Google) for payment processing and subscription management.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The new policy will be effective as soon as it is posted.

We recommend checking this page periodically to stay informed about how PitNotes handles information.
